What You Need
1 pound pasta, bowtie or any shape you prefer
vegetable oil, enough for frying
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Kosher salt
ground black pepper
marinara sauce
What To Do
In a large pot of boiling water, cook the pasta until it has reached al dente consistency, which should take about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta.
Take a deep skillet and pour vegetable oil in until it is up to 1/2 an inch of the pot. Heat the oil over medium heat until it looks like it is shimmering. At this point, add a cup of the al dente pasta, making sure the individual pieces don’t overlap.
Cook the pasta until it becomes golden and crispy, which will take about 2 minutes per side. Drain the pasta chips on paper towels and immediately season with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
Repeat this process until you have fried all of the pasta, working in batches to make sure the pan doesn’t get overcrowded.
If you have an air fryer, you can also make these easily in it! Instead of frying the chips in the pot, place them in the air fryer’s basket and cook at 400 degrees until they have become golden brown and crispy, which should take about 8-10 minutes. Make sure to toss the pasta halfway through. Place the pasta chips on a baking sheet until they cool.
Serve the finished pasta chips with warm marinara sauce and enjoy.
