It seems we are living in the age of nostalgia these days…at least when it comes to everything from the 1990’s and early 2000’s. From TV show reboots like Gilmore Girls to Arrested Development, people can’t seem to get enough of reliving what now seems like a simpler time.
Fashion trends like mom jeans and jelly shoes are back, and who could have ever expected scrunchies to come back into style too? When it comes to nostalgia, nothing can take you back like a childhood favorite food. Do you remember these?
Ice cream company Good Humor that’s best known for its Klondike bars has officially announced that Viennetta ice cream cakes will officially be making a comeback.
For those who don’t remember, these cakes feature layers of ice cream and chocolate that to every kid looked like it belonged on a silver dish served at a castle. As the company describes, the vanilla Viennetta combines “wavy frozen vanilla base between crispy, decadent chocolate layers in a unique cake shape that is perfectly portioned for an entire family to share.”
If you loved these delicious treats when you were a kid or you’re totally new to them, this is very exciting news. It’s time to pick up a Viennetta and remember what the fuss was about.
But these aren’t the only throwback snacks that are making a comeback.
Who else mourned the day Dunkaroos were no longer being sold at stores? No need to be sad anymore, because these beloved childhood snacks are officially back! Best of all, the company is fully aware of how much we miss the days of AOL Instant Messenger and have leaned into our nostalgia on their website.
The company announced their return with a fun tweet that reminisces about the best parts of being a kid in the 90’s. Who else remembers Bop It?
So load up on your favorite nostalgic snacks, pop in a VHS tape, and dance around to the Backstreet Boys. We’ll be right there along with you.
