A Stunt Gone Wrong
While he was filming the sixth installment of Mission: Impossible, while doing a stunt involving jumping from a rigging onto a building, he missed the landing, completely breaking his ankle. He took seven weeks off of filming to heal, but when he was back, he still continued doing his own stunts.

Once again, another example of Cruise’s dedication to a role came when he was working on Rock of Ages. He rehearsed five hours a day, and since it was his first musical role, he admitted that he was intimidated by all the singing and dancing he had to do. He took it as a personal challenge to overcome.
